Solar Panel Repair, Cleaning & Maintenance in Vernon, BC
Output dropped? Inverter throwing a fault? We service solar systems across the North Okanagan — including ones we did not install.
Solar Service Across the North Okanagan
Solar arrays are low-maintenance, not no-maintenance. Panels have no moving parts and will sit on a roof for decades, but the inverter is the component that fails — it is the piece of electronics working hardest, and on most residential systems it is the first thing to need replacing.
The other thing that happens is quieter. Output drifts down over a season or two and nobody notices, because there is nothing dramatic to notice. Wildfire smoke settles across the array in August. Winter grit builds up. A tree that was fine when the system went in has grown into the afternoon sun. A single panel fails and the string carries on at reduced output.
We service systems throughout the region regardless of who installed them. Plenty of our service work is for people whose original installer has moved on, changed hands or stopped returning calls.
Worth booking a look if any of these apply: your production is noticeably down on the same month last year, the inverter is showing a fault code or has gone dark, one panel reads lower than its neighbours in the monitoring app, there is staining or streaking across the glass, you have had heavy snow or a hailstorm since the last inspection, or nobody has been on the roof since the system was commissioned. None of those are emergencies. All of them get more expensive the longer they sit.
If your system is still under warranty, that changes what you should do next — which is why we check the warranty position before quoting anything.

What We Service
Output diagnosis
Your production is down and you want to know why. We check per-panel or per-string production, inspect for shading changes, and test the inverter. Usually the cause is identified on the first visit.
Inverter repair and replacement
The most common real failure. We diagnose, and where replacement is the answer we will tell you whether it is worth matching the original or upgrading — sometimes a hybrid inverter that supports batteries later is the better spend.
Panel cleaning
Worth doing after wildfire smoke and after winter. Done with the right water and the right technique — pressure washers and household cleaners damage panel coatings, and we have replaced panels that were cleaned enthusiastically.
Panel replacement
Physical damage from hail or debris, delamination, or a failed panel dragging a string. Warranty position checked first where documentation exists.
Racking, flashing and roof penetrations
Loose mounts, movement after heavy snow, and seals around penetrations. A leak from a solar penetration is a roof problem long before it is a solar problem.
Annual inspection and output check
A yearly look at production against expectation, connections, mounting and the inverter — so drift gets caught while it is still cheap.
What Solar Service Costs
| Service | Cost |
|---|---|
| Diagnostic call-out | from $149 |
| System inspection & output check | from $199 |
| Panel cleaning (residential array) | from $249 |
| Inverter replacement | from $2,200 – $4,500 |
| Panel replacement | quoted after inspection |
Call-out pricing covers Vernon and the immediate North Okanagan; properties further out may carry additional travel. Where a fault is covered by an existing warranty we will tell you and help you pursue it rather than quoting you for the work.
Why People Call Us for Service
We service systems we did not install
Original installer gone, sold or unresponsive? That is a large share of our service work.
Warranty checked first
If your inverter or panel is still covered, we say so. Charging for work a manufacturer owes you is not a business we want.
Cleaning that does not damage panels
Correct water, correct technique. We have replaced panels ruined by well-meant pressure washing.
Local, so a call-out is a call-out
Vernon-based. Not a service tech dispatched from the coast next month.
Find out what solar would do for your power bill.
A free estimate takes about fifteen minutes on the phone. No pressure, no obligation, and a straight answer either way.
How a Service Call Runs
Describe the symptom
Production figures, inverter error codes, or what changed. Often enough to narrow it before we arrive.
On-site diagnosis
Per-panel production, inverter test, physical inspection of array and mounting.
Findings and options
What failed, what it costs, what warranty covers, and what happens if you leave it.
Repair and verification
Work completed and output confirmed against expectation before we leave.
